The first major update for Microsoft's Windows 10 is almost here, which means that the tech firm's latest operating system will get the much-needed bug fixes once the Windows 10 Fall Update has been finally released.

According to reports, the Windows 10 Fall Update can support Windows 10 version 1511 and build 10586. It will come with several added features to improve the function of Microsoft's latest operating system offering.

Some of the contents of the upcoming Windows 10 Fall Update have been compiled by Thurrott, and they include:

Improved device activation – Microsoft finally made an easier way to activate the new OS by allowing all the existing Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1 product keys to activate Windows 10.

Deactivating the Windows background picture in the sign-in screen – The tech firm seems to be listening to their consumers, incorporating a new feature that can turn off the Windows background picture that appears on the sign-in screen. This can be activated when the user goes to the device's Settings page and then search for Personalization and choose Lock Screen to disable the "Show Windows background picture on the sign-in screen" option.

Simplified color scheme options – The upcoming Windows 10 Fall Update can finally fix the unappealing white title bar that seems out of place in the overall look and feel of the new system by allowing users to apply an accent color.

Improved Start menu – Users can add another column to organize the apps and contents of the device by going to the Settings tab and then choosing Personalization and clicking on the Start tab to enable the "Show more titles." Microsoft also increased the limit of tiles on display in the Start screen, from 512 tiles to 2048 tiles.

Other added improvements that can be seen in the soon-to-be-released Windows 10 Fall Update include new features for Skype messaging, voice and video calling and in Microsoft Edge browser.
