Gabe Aul, Microsoft's vice president, issued the announcement on March 2 on their Windows Experience blog, stating what Build 10586.122 contains and which additional phones will receive the current update.

"Today we are releasing another Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 10586 to Windows Insiders in the Slow and Release Preview rings: Build 10586.122," he wrote. "This Cumulative Update continues to address feedback we received on Windows 10 Mobile from devices such as the Lumia 950, 950 XL, 550, and 650 as well as the upgrade experience from Windows Phone 8.1. In some cases, improvements and fixes in this Cumulative Update will only be seen when upgrading from Windows Phone 8.1. We are also adding support for 4 additional devices on the Current Branch for Insiders receiving today's update: MCJ Madosma Q501, BLU Win HD W510U, BLU Win HD LTE X150Q, and ALCATEL ONETOUCH Fierce XL."

Some of the issues tackled in this update are:

  • Fixed Internet Sharing configuration issue
  • Fixed Kanji input with Continuum
  • Fixed the slow appearance of thumbnails for videos in portrait mode
  • Fixed the issue with Microsoft Edge's failure to close all of its tabs

Additional updates were also performed on the following issues:

  • Data connection profiles for dual SIM devices
  • Background processing for better battery performance
  • Updated quality of video recordings saved in the SD card

Several improvements were also included to make Windows 10 Mobile more stable and reliable.

Windows Central added that Microsoft made some changes early in the year to its Mobile Insider Program. The Fast Ring will be including Lumia models that were shipped with Windows 10 Mobile, while the other rings will include non-Microsoft phones highly capable of using the latest Windows mobile operating system. The four additional supported phones, as mentioned by Aul, are the 5-inch BLU Win HD W510U and Win HD LTE X150Q, the recently launched 5.5-inch ALCATEL OneTouch Fierce XL, and the MCJ Madosma Q501.

It is expected that non-members of the Insider Program may receive the said update in the near future.
