In yet another tweet, the Lumia Twitter helpdesk went on to say, "We're working to make Windows 10 available to eligible Lumia smartphones running Windows Phone 8.1 as an upgrade. No specific release date has been announced yet, but we're sure that it will be released soon."

In November, Microsoft introduced Windows 10 mobile when they launched the Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL, which both launched with the brand new Windows mobile firmware out of the box. Following that, a spokesperson from Microsoft told ZDNet that the company would be rolling out Windows 10 mobile to select handsets running on Windows 8 and 8.1.

The handsets that have been predetermined to receive the mobile OS update include the Microsoft Lumia 430, Lumia 435, Lumia 532, Lumia 535, Lumia 540, Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL, Lumia 735, Lumia 830 and Lumia 930. Currently, all the mentioned handsets run on either Windows 8 or Windows 8.1. When the Windows 10 Mobile upgrade becomes available for an OTA update to these devices, the phone will need at least 8GB of internal memory to get the update.

Windows 10 is now available for PCs and tablets as the desktop version has already been launched. The new operating system by Microsoft brings a set of new features including Microsoft Cortana, Microsoft Edge which is a new version of Internet Explorer, Windows Hello, the return of the famous Start Menu and many more.
