A big Windows 10 update recently dropped and while it is billed to bring in "improvements in all aspects of the platform and experience," there's more to the update than meets the eye. There are a slew of hidden features tucked in the patch.

First off, users who love to go from one country to the other will no longer need to manually change the time zone that applies to a certain region as the software will do it for them. The option is enabled by default but users can toggle it off via Settings > Time & Language.

Windows 10 also offers the Find My Device functionality without the need to install third-party software. In the event a user's laptop or PC is stolen or misplaced, all they need is to do is log in to their Microsoft Account from a Windows 10-running device to locate it.

Sending photos, audio and videos from Microsoft Edge has been made easier with the Windows 10 now offering users the option to "cast media to device." Another browser-related improvement is the newfound ability of users to sync support password, favorites and reading list.

The new update will also save users the time to install applications like the Skype Video and Messaging, Phone on Skype because this will be taken care of by Microsoft digital assistant Cortana, which will now be made available in regions like Japan, Australia, Canada and India.

As for the general improvements, Microsoft promises that boot time will be 30 percent faster than the Windows 7. Cortana was made more powerful in the sense that it can recognize the phone number, email address or physical address just by a note scribbled by the user.
