'The Witcher 3' tips: How to level up faster and progress

The third instalment in "The Witcher" series is touted by many hardcore RPG players and "The Witcher" fans as the most challenging in the franchise. Many gamers, especially the first-timers, keep on dying and some get frustrated due to their slow progress in the game. How would gamers get the best out of their "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" experience? They can enjoy and make steady progress by leveling up faster.

Using Trophies

Trophies are rewards which can unlock experience boosts when in combat. At the early stages of the game, Geralt will be given a contract to hunt down and subdue a witch haunting a well. The reward for players is a NoonWraith trophy. This reward gives them a five percent boost in experience when in combat, meaning Geralt will increase his level up progress five percent faster than normal.

There are other trophies which give experience boosts when fighting specific types of monsters, and gamers just need to switch between active trophies to boost levels faster.

Do all quests and contracts

While some players are in "The Witcher 3" due to its cinematic and expansive main story, hardcore RPG fans advise that doing all the secondary missions and contracts first before delving into the main story will better prepare Geralt for the monsters ahead.

It is also useful to challenge bandits and clear out monster nests that Geralt will come across while roaming, as these will also help in levelling up faster.

Maximize Places of Power

Just like in recent RPG open-world titles, particularly "The Elder Scrolls," "The Witcher 3" also has specific shrines called Places of Power, 16 in total. Activating these stones gives Geralt additional experience and a particular skill boost that he can use in combat.

Master Gwent

Gwent is an in-game card game in "The Witcher" series, and mastering how to play Geralt's cards right will make him not just a better Gwent player, but will also give additional experience and gold.
