'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt' free DLC updates: Details revealed for expansion pack

CD Projekt Red is making sure that the 16th DLC for "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" will be a very special one. The game developer made their announcement about the release of the last free DLC through its official Facebook page, but it also said that players must wait for a while before the upcoming expansion pack is released.

The official announcement from CD Projekt Red states:

Already finished The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt multiple times? We've got something coming up... New Game+, the final DLC, is on the way and, of course, it's completely FREE! Stay tuned for more info regarding the release. It won't happen this week though - we need a little bit more time to finish it."

While the details about the upcoming DLC are scarce in the Facebook announcement, GameSpot listed down several information shared by CD Projekt Red's community manager Marcin Momot in the game's official forum site.

Momot answered some of the most common questions from fans regarding the possible features of the New Game+ DLC, including:

  • Stronger enemies
  • Player experiences, all game items except quest items, books & letters, Gwent cards, usable items and trophies, as well as alchemy recipes can be carried over from the main game
  • Option to select any difficulty level when starting the New Game+ DLC
  • Chance to get the Death Match achievement when playing the New Game+ mode

While this is the last free DLC that the game developer will release for "The Witcher 3," they are still planning to come up with two long story expansions for the game. These new story modes will be called "Hearts of Stone" as well as "Blood and Wine." If the speculations about these story expansions turn out to be accurate, the game will have additional 30 hours of role-playing game per expansion pack.

The New Game+ DLC for "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" has no release date as of the moment.
