"The Witcher 4" will eventually be released and it will still be a CD Projekt Red creation.

That's the overall message that can be taken from a recent appearance of the company's CEO Adam Kicinski. Kicinski appeared on the Polish television station, TVN24 BiS.

During his appearance on the network, Kicinski did confirm that CD Projekt Red will continue to work on "The Witcher" series, although he was quick to admit that it is simply too early to start talking about it now. Kicinski added that he believed it would be "unfair" to fans for them to simply drop the series, hence the decision to continue it.

News that CD Projekt Red will continue to work on "The Witcher" series will undoubtedly please a lot of fans, especially since "The Witcher 3" is fresh off taking home Game of the Year honors from The Game Awards that took place just last week in Los Angeles, according to Gamespot.

Still, even with the same studio expected to helm "The Witcher 4," major changes remain likely for the franchise. Perhaps the biggest change that fans can expect in "The Witcher 4" is a new main character. "The Witcher 3" is widely believed to be the end of Geralt's long and winding journey, and with the well-known hero set to step aside, fans can only speculate for now as to who might take his place.

"The Witcher 4" could very well provide an ideal platform to launch a new main character for the franchise, or it could also be the perfect opportunity for CD Projekt Red to introduce more personalization into the series by allowing players to create their own in-game heroes or heroines, Gamepressure speculated.

The only thing certain is that "The Witcher 4" will not be coming soon, as CD Projekt Red is now fully focused on the sci-fi title "Cyberpunk 2077."
