'Witches Of East End' season 3: Petition continues to get support, Madchen Amick expresses appreciation to fans

Lifetime's "Witches of East End" was cancelled after being on air for only two seasons. However, loyal fans of the show are not ready to give up. And since the cancellation, every fan has been working hard to get the show back on the small screen.

At the rate the fans are going, there's a big chance that "Witches of East End" will be renewed for a third season. However, it's not just up to Lifetime network anymore. Since Fox holds the rights to the show, it can shop for another network to air the series.

Right now, fans of "Witches of East End" managed to get the online petition signed by more than 96,000 people. Apart from the successful petition, they have also led social media campaigns to help boost the show's chance of being renewed.

Actress Madchen Amick took to Twitter to send her thanks and appreciation to everyone. The small tweet conversation went: "@Heiti693: Ok what would #AuntWendy say if she saw this?" a fan asked Amick in a post on her Twitter page with a link to the petition. "#Wendyism'- almost 100k?!... you #witchEEs be bada--!!"

Further, Amick also had a chat with EnStars to talk about the possible renewal and whether they'll be moving to another network.

"I was told directly from FOX that after the cancellation, if there was enough social media buzz, that at that point, they could shop the show around to other networks," Amick said. "And that they- both Lifetime and FOX- were very surprised that immediate reaction from the fans and how quickly they organized and made a really big buzz about how unhappy they were at that cancellation."

Amick also explained one possible reason why the show got cancelled, saying, "People just don't sit down and watch shows live anymore. They DVR it, they stream it, they watch it on Netflix or iTunes. It's just unfortunate that a network only makes their profit off of live viewership because their hands are tied by advertisers. They may believe in the show and want it to continue, but they just unfortunately can't afford it."

As of the moment, a renewal hasn't been confirmed. But Amick does urge the fans to continue what they are doing. She also mentioned that they really put in effort to deliver what the fans want, so hopefully, this time, they get to do it again.
