MachineGames and Bethesda have released a much-needed patch that enables the Steam overlay for "Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus."

Launched on Oct. 27, the game has received good reviews — 89/100 on PlayStation 4 and PC, and 87/100 on Xbox One.

However, it has received mixed reviews on Steam. Forbes reported that some Steam users are disappointed with the game's performance, highly anticipated as it was. Steam overlay was also not available, making users more upset.

A player with the username abugaj said, "I am sure this game has a lot of positive things but for now as it stands right now. I cannot recommend this game. First of all it has terrible freezing, crashing, and the dreaded blue screen of death crash screen."

Another one, named Athanosh, said, "Killing Nazis is fun. Fighting constant bugs and crashes is not. This is unprofessional."

While the problem was not experienced by everyone on Steam, it affected a lot of people, as seen on the many thumbs down icons on the gaming forum.

Game developers are hoping to redeem the game's mixed reviews on Steam with its latest patch. Players would be happy to know that Steam overlay is now available. Async compute for AMD players has also been re-enabled, as long as the player is using the latest drivers. It has, however, been temporarily disabled for Nvidia users.

Bethesda has also resolved the issue regarding the game's full deployment in other countries like Bahrain, Japan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

"Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus" follows the story of William "BJ" Blazcowikz, who is leading the Resistance against the Nazi regime. In this second installment of the critically acclaimed franchise, BJ and his team will move the battle to the United States, hoping that a second American Revolution will finally cause the downfall of the Third Reich.
