Ever since its record-breaking theatrical run last year, fans of the acclaimed superhero movie "Wonder Woman" have been enthusiastically anticipating announcements regarding the planned sequel to the DC movie.

Well, fans are going to wait no more as new information on the sequel's release is at hand courtesy of movie producer Charles Roven.

In an interview with ComicBook.com, Charles Roven shared that "Wonder Woman 2" is currently still in screenplay development. He also disclosed that the film is currently moving into hard preparation, adding that shooting will probably start sometime this summer. Roven also hopes that the movie will launch sometime in 2019.

"We're in what I would call development of the screenplay." Roven explained. "We finally, I think, have a good story to tell. Not kind of – we do believe we have a good story to tell. And then we're also just moving out of what normally we would call soft prep into hard prep. We're hoping to start shooting the movie sometime this summer, and hope to have it out by the end of '19," Roven detailed.

Roven's admission aligns with earlier production speculations that suggest that filming is going to take place in locations inside England over the summer.

Aside from this, previous casting rumors indicate that the magical character Circe might stand opposite the female protagonist Diana seeing as news broke out that the working title for the film will be "Magic Hour."

In recent news, another fan-favorite villain, Cheetah, is also rumored to be the antagonist in the film sequel with some claiming that Kristen Wiig is in talks to play the role.

Despite these numerous speculations, nothing has been made official yet. Fans should take these new developments with grain of salt until an official announcement has been made.
