In a herd of male-driven superhero films in the past years, it took a wonderful woman to take a spot in a review aggregator site.

In their recent list of best superhero movies of all time, Rotten Tomato has named Patty Jenkin's "Wonder Woman" as number one with an amazing score of 108.569%. Aside from this feat, the film, starred by Israeli actress Gal Gadot, has also surpassed other DC films at the domestic ticket sales and has even beaten Sam Raimi's original "Spiderman" movie in the same category, making it the highest-grossing superhero origin story to be shown.

Diana Prince a.k.a. Wonder Woman made her debut in the 2016 superhero film "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice," which was directed by Zack Snyder. "Wonder Woman" became the first movie from Warner Bros. DC Cinematic Universe that excelled in both reviews by critics and ticket sales.

"Wonder Woman" outranked other superhero films like Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight" and John Favreau's "Iron Man." The results not only surprised fans of the superhero movie genre but also Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot who took to Twitter to express their gratitude to the critics and the fans for their continued support for the film.

The theatrical run of "Wonder Woman" is over but the film still has miles to go before it can give the audience "Wonder Woman 2." Warner Bros. is presently giving the movie an awards season campaign, trying to enter the film into virtually every potential category for the 2018 Academy Awards. While some may say "Wonder Woman" might not win an award at the ceremony, it's noteworthy to see the impact the movie has made on the industry and how it continues to resonate with everyone with its message of women empowerment and peace.

"Wonder Woman 2" is slated to come out on Dec.13, 2019.
