Before Wonder Woman became a woman of wonders, her story as Princess Diana (Gal Gadot) unfolds when a pilot — who will be played by Chris Pine — becomes stranded on her home island. The awaited DC movie is set to premiere on June 2017.

Warner Bros previously announced that Wonder Woman will have a solo movie featuring her origin story, according to Digital Spy. The official synopsis of Wonder Woman narrates that Princess Diana was "raised on a sheltered island paradise." When a fighter pilot ends up at the island of Themyscira, he tells her of "a massive conflict raging in the outside world." This pushes the Amazon princess to leave her home and fight side by side with mankind to end the war.

The war that the pilot was referring to is World War I, which was confirmed to be the time setting where the story of Wonder Woman happens.

The fighter pilot that gets stranded on the home island of the princess for her to find and nurse back to health will be played by "Star Trek" star  Pine. He will play Steve Trevor, the one man who catches Princess Diana's heart. Steve will be the first man to step on the island for many years, and he will also give Princess Diana a reason to leave the island.

At the secret island of Themyscira, Princess Diana lived among Amazon warrior women of Greek legend. The story behind the island is that the queen mother of the Amazon women, Queen Hippolyta — to be played by Connie Nielsen from "Gladiator" — kept her children away from the evils of man.

Patty Jenkins of "Monster" will be directing "Wonder Woman," while the scriptwriters of the movie are DC chief creative officer Geoff Johns and "Young Avenger" creator Allen Heinberg.

"Wonder Woman" is set to premiere on June 2, 2017.
