Almost any superhero universe is dominated by bulky men taking the helm and dishing hurt one film after the other. Although there are female heroes, men usually take the lead as the main characters. Perhaps that's the reason that when Wonder Woman plunged into "Batman vs Superman," the whole world was stunned, so much so that there was a silent excitement brewing everywhere.

Wonder Woman has been a symbol of feminism and power, thus the casting search was very exhaustive. It wasn't until the beautiful Israeli actress Gal Gadot stepped in that made producers decide she's the one.

Her fierce character onscreen is coupled by an equally fiery passion behind the scenes. According to Hollywood Outbreak, Gadot feels deeply honored to portray such an epic heroine. Knowing that a lot of people look up to her character, she understands the big responsibility of making her relatable and ensuring she does justice to the role, thus she takes things seriously.

It seems she takes it to heart that she endures everything the role throws at her. During the Rhode Island Comic Con last Nov. 13, she talked about how challenging it was to fit into her Wonder Woman costume for the first time, but that it's all part of the job.

"The very-very first time I tried the costume on was three days after I got cast. And they flew me to Michigan, and I got into this huge hangar. Huge, with tons of white walls covered with posters of me as Wonder Woman. I got into the room and I couldn't stop looking at the posters. And then, when they wanted me to try on the costume—because I was so excited that they cast me for the role—I couldn't say anything; I couldn't breathe, but I was like, 'That's okay. That's fine,'" Comic Book reports.

The film takes the audience back to Wonder Woman's origins, where she was first the princess of the Amazons known as Diana. Living on an uncharted island, she was trained to be a formidable warrior until an American pilot, played by Chris Pine, crashes onto their shores. He explains that there is a war in the outside world. Convinced she can make a difference, Diana ventures out to save mankind.

"Wonder Woman" is scheduled to premiere on June 2, 2017.
