World Series 2017 schedule, ticket price, TV channel: Ticket prices surge ahead of Game 1

The 2017 World Series will kick off on today, Oct. 24. The 113th World Series will see the head to head game of Dodgers against Astros, who will come face to face for the second time in the postseason, the first one being in 1981.

The schedule of the games will be Tuesday, Oct. 24, Astros at Dodgers (8:09 p.m. EDT); Wednesday, Oct. 25, Astros at Dodgers (8:09 p.m. EDT); Friday, Oct. 27, Dodgers at Astros (8:09 p.m. EDT); and Saturday, Oct. 28, Dodgers at Astros (8:09 p.m. EDT).

If it will be necessary, the schedule of the next games will be Sunday, Oct. 29, Dodgers at Astros (8:16 p.m. EDT); Tuesday, Oct. 31, Astros at Dodgers (8:09 p.m EDT); and Wednesday, Nov. 1, Astros at Dodgers. All games will be aired by Fox.

Prior to the game, Houston Astros, along with eight others, had never won a World Series. The team will be betting with Dallas Keuchel for Game 1, while Justin Verlander will take on Game 2. The team had beaten the New York Yankees on Saturday, Oct. 21, making them advance to the World Series.

Dave Roberts, Los Angeles Dodgers' coach, also announced the rotation for his team on Twitter. The order will be Clayton Kershaw, Rich Hill, Yu Darvish, and Alex Wood, the same combination the coach penned in the game against the Chicago Cubs on Thursday, Oct. 19.

Meanwhile, ticket prices for the games have surged since Friday, Oct. 20, as the countdown began for the first game.

"While both teams have average prices that are historically high, the Dodgers market is almost 10 times as big as the Astros and over three times as the Cubs last year," the founder of TicketIQ, Jesse Lawrence, told Fox News

Reports say that the prices to see the Dodgers play will be the second highest next to Chicago Cubs' play last year. The data were compiled by TicketIQ. The ticket will go for about $3,332. Astros' tickets will be about $2,144.
