WWE Wrestlemania 32 rumor: Injured John Cena sidelined? The Rock confirms appearance

WWE Official

The WWE is preparing for the biggest event this year and there are several expectations as to who could be fighting in the ring.

John Cena is reported to be part of the major event, but will he continue on with his recent injury?

According to a Wednesday report from PWInsider (via several media outlets), Cena sustained an injury on his rotator cuff. The wrestler himself confirmed this when he posted on Twitter that he will be heading to Birmingham on Thursday to go through surgery.

The injury is said to put him on a hiatus for six to nine months, according to UpRoxx, and this means it will be a major setback for WWE since the 32-year-old is reportedly in negotiations to fight The Undertaker in the upcoming match in Arlington, Texas this April.

Cena had been injured before but he somehow managed to come out victorious. It remains to be seen if he will sit this one out or not.

Meanwhile, what's confirmed for the event is that The Rock will definitely be present. The actor posted on Instagram last week that he will be making an appearance in Arlington.

The Rock did not mention who he will be fighting against, but according to SportsKeeda, it's likely that he will take on The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar or even John Cena.

The news outlet also mentioned that there's a possibility The Rock will be facing Triple H. The last time the two fighters had an encounter was during Wrestlemania 31 when the former interrupted the latter's promo with Stephanie McMahon.

The Rock and Triple H had their last serious feud 15 years ago and them sharing the ring this April will definitely delight long-time fans of the two.

The Bitbag also speculated that there will be a tag-team in the upcoming event, with The Rock joining forces with The Undertaker to fight the team composed of Brock Lesnar, paired up with either Triple H or John Cena.

The abovementioned match-ups are only based on speculations. So far, only The Rock has confirmed his appearance.
