'Wrestlemania 32' rumors: John Cena grounded, needs shoulder surgery

The WWE had high hopes that the return of John Cena could help check the skidding ratings but after recent developments, it looks like they will have to seek another WWE star to do that.

This comes after Cena was reportedly set to undergo shoulder surgery (via WWE.com), something that will likely keep him out until "Wrestlemania 32."

Cena just returned to the WWE just recently where he was set to make another run at reclaiming the United States championship, which he lost to Alberto Del Rio at the WWE Night of Champions.

His return was seen as well as something that would help boost the stock of reigning WWE heavyweight champion, Roman Reigns, but apparently all plans for that have now been scrapped. So now the WWE needs to find a way to take it from here without Cena, practically putting them back to square one.

There is no word yet on how long Cena would be kept out of the WWE scene but he may likely be out of "Wrestlemania 32" as well. This becomes another problem for the WWE with earlier rumors tying up the Cenation leader to a possible match with "The Undertaker."

Cena is the latest casualty in the WWE locker room. Already in the injured list are Seth Rollins, Cesaro, Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton. His untimely sidelining becomes a cause for concern since the WWE will need to look for someone else in the roster to fill in the void.

A recent push for another faction ("Social Outcasts") could be one of them, though it remains to be seen what these WWE stars can do.

Then there is that report involving four NJPW stars who are said to be headed to the WWE circuit (Shinsuke Nakamura, AJ Styles, Doc Gallows, and Karl Anderson) to provide additional options, which the WWE can consider.
