WWE rumors 2016: Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio join stars hit with injuries

Alberto Del Rio and Sheamus are two of the top heel names in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and key figures in the "League of Nations" faction.

Unfortunately both may have to be sidelined for now with the two heel stars dealing with injuries.

Sheamus was the first one to fall with the Celtic Warrior suffering a hand injury. Not long after, Alberto Del Rio followed the former WWE champion who is dealing with a lower back injury.

With that said, the two WWE stars join Wade Barrett in the sidelines, technically wiping out the main characters that make up the "League of Nations" stable.

Word about the injury to Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio compounds the roster woes that the WWE has had to deal with.

John Cena, Seth Rollins, Randy Orton, Nikki Bella, and Cesaro are among the names already sidelined due to varying injuries which further deplete the WWE roster.

With that said, the WWE may have to elevate some mid-card stars or perhaps drag in some part-time wrestlers to fill in for the WWE shows.

Rusev is the lone man left from the "League of Nations" and it looks like the Bulgarian Brute will have to go out on his own from here on. With most heels grounded, it could also offer him an opportunity to get another boost from the WWE.

The severity of Del Rio's injury, however, has yet to be determined. There is a chance that some rest could be enough for him to recuperate, or he could, perhaps, wrestle through the injury with some precautions.

Right now, Triple H technically becomes the top heel in the WWE with the likes of Bray Wyatt and his henchmen (Luke Harper, Erick Rowan, and Braun Strowman), Kevin Owens, and the New Day following his lead.

But will they be enough to maintain balance in the WWE? If not, there could be a heel turn soon, unless some part-time heel wrestler suddenly appears in the coming WWE shows.
