The John Cena vs. Rusev storyline was something that finally ended at WWE Payback and for many fans, it was about time.

Apparently there were some folks from the WWE Universe who believe that extending the Cena-Rusev feud towards the next pay-per-view could be less interesting especially considering that Rusev has lost three times in a row with the reigning United States Champion.

Cena is now of course expected to feud with NXT champion Kevin Owens and the two will get it on in a storyline to reach at least the 2015 WWE Elimination Chamber. The move looks like the WWE is preparing to give Owens a WWE bump and there is even belief that he may pull out an win (some consider it an upset) over Cena come the said pay-per-view.

That of course remains to be seen but not far from happening. Should Owens pry the US Title away from Cena, it could start another multi-episode storyline between the two. The question is, who between the two keeps the belt? More so, who will hang on to it for the next couple of months?

While all that remains to be seen, how about Rusev?

With Lana gone and now under Dolph Zigger's umbrella, it seems that he will not be in the WWE title picture for now. Rusev is expected to feud with Ziggler and Lana but there is no word on how long this storyline would be.

It will be recalled that Rusev blamed Lana for his consecutive losses to Cena, not to mention disapproving of her taking the limelight during his matches.

As rumored, Lana left Rusev with an exclamatory slap after the Bulgarian Brute rushed to the ring when the former handler laid a kiss on Ziggler.

So both wrestlers (Cena and Rusev) have new storylines. But the thing is, did their previous feud end properly or was it a bit too early or late?
