Sting is reportedly set to make his third straight appearance on Raw during this week's episode.

As fans will recall, Sting initially made his return the night after SummerSlam when he attacked Seth Rollins. Then last week, Sting appeared again, serving as the opening act for Raw and closing the show as he stood next to John Cena while the pair looked on at Rollins.

Initially, it appeared as though World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) was content with leaving Sting off the upcoming episode of Raw, but plans have apparently changed.

According to the Inquisitr, a significant bump in the ratings has led to the WWE rethinking their plans considering Sting, and it ultimately led to them writing him into the upcoming episode of Raw.

There's no word yet on what Sting will be doing on the show, although he is expected to continue to build on his feud with Rollins as they make their way towards their WWE World Heavyweight Championship match at the Night of Champions pay-per-view (PPV).

Rollins is expected to pull double duty during the Night of Champions event as he is scheduled to wrestle Cena for the U.S. championship early on in the PPV and he will then be expected to close the show together with Sting when they have their title match.

In related news, there is a bit of concern as it relates to Cena after he was apparently injured during a WWE Live Event in Hampton, Virginia, according to Wrestle Zone.

Cena reportedly suffered the injury halfway through a match with Kevin Owens.

It is believed that Cena was feeling the effects of an injury related to his nose and head, which led to the match being temporarily stopped. After the WWE medical team checked on Cena, he was allowed to continue the match and eventually scored the win over Owens.

It is unclear if the apparent injury will cause Cena to miss the upcoming episode of Raw.
