While fans still enjoy the latest expansion content for 2K Games' latest installment of the "WWE" wresting game franchise, some observers are speculating that the publisher is not yet finished with surprises. According to recent rumors, fans might get to see a PC release for the title early this year.

According to Youth Health Mag, rumors of a PC version of "WWE 2K16" already surfaced last year, when a German gaming website predicted that the version will come out before 2015 ends. However, 2K Games instead chose to release a number of new expansion DLC packs for its console versions instead, with the latest, the "Legends Pack" and "Terminator Pack" released last month.

The industry follower added that with 2015 already done, observers are still optimistic about the PC release, saying that 2K Games will probably roll out the PC title sometime in the first quarter of the year.

Meanwhile, Crossmap reported that an indication that 2K Games might be nearing completion of a PC version of "WWE 2K16" is the number of patches and auto-updates that the developer pushed through for the console versions. The industry follower said that this means that 2K Games is still active in the development of the title, and a PC version might be included in the pipeline.

"WWE 2K16" launched in October. Boasting of a formidable roster of "WWE" talents and a number of gameplay, design, and interface improvements, the title is currently available for the older-gen Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, as well as the current-gen Xbox One and PS4.

However, one new feature of the current "WWE 2K16" title is console-exclusive content. As part of the DLC packs, the MyPlayer Kickstart option was launched as PS4- and Xbox One-exclusive content.
