"WWE 2K16" players can now safely download the Future Stars Pack without worrying that it could adversely affect their save files.

Back in January, some players who downloaded the downloadable content (DLC) pack that contained characters Samoa Joe, Blake and Murphy, and Los Matadores reported problems concerning their save files that came about as a result of their actions, according to iDigital Times.

According to those players, downloading the DLC pack specifically affected their saved data for the game's Universe Mode.

After discovering the problems, the game's publisher 2K Sports, then issued an advisory to players asking that they hold off on downloading the Future Stars Pack DLC until the matter was resolved.

2K Sports even took down the DLC pack for a while to avoid further instances of "WWE 2K16" data being damaged.

It's worth noting that the save file issue only affected the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of "WWE 2K16."

The good news is that it looks as though 2K Sports has now managed to fix the problem, at least for one platform.

As Design and Trend reported, patch 1.05 released for the PlayStation 4 port of "WWE 2K16" is addressing the save file issue, thus making it safe for players to download the Future Stars Pack DLC.

The patch is also expected to arrive for the Xbox One version of the game a bit later on.

2K Sports has also since made the Future Stars DLC Pack available to purchase for both the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Store again, Attack of the Fanboy reported.

Aside from fixing the issue with "WWE 2K16's" Universe Mode, the new patch is also providing gameplay fixes as well as support for the 2015 Hall of Fame Showcase DLC pack that is coming soon.

The 2015 Hall of Fame Showcase Pack is expected to be the last DLC drop for "WWE 2K16."
