'WWE 2K17' release date, roster: NXT, Shinsuke Nakamura take center stage in Collector's Edition

Developer 2K Sports has officially unveiled the Collector's Edition of "WWE 2K17" with NXT superstar Shinsuke Nakamura at front and center. This prestigious must-have edition will be all about NXT.

The "WWE 2K17" Collector's Edition will be a treat to every NXT fan. The edition makes The King of Strong Style a playable character as well as NXT top superstars Nia Jax and Apollo Crews.

The "WWE 2K17" also endows owners with 50 percent more points at NXT in MyCareer. More in-game perks include two playable versions of Goldberg and WCW Monday Nitro and Halloween Havoc arenas.

As for the physical goodies, the "WWE 2K17" Collector's Edition includes a lithograph featuring and signed by Nakamura and designed by WWE artist Rob Schamberger. Embedded below is a video of how the resident WWE painter put together the masterpiece.

The edition also comes with exclusive NXT TakeOver: London Mat Relics Card, which includes a piece of authentic ring canvas from the event and one of 14 superstars that appeared there.

Last but not the least, the "WWE 2K17" Collector's Edition will come with an eight-inch Demon Finn Balor figurine, which looks rather amazing and ready for display.

This pack of goodies is priced at $100. Those who are interested in taking home the "WWE 2K17" Collector's Edition can now pre-order it for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

There will only be 50,000 copies to be made available worldwide so those who want to own the collectibles should reserve one for themselves before the supply runs out.

PS3 and Xbox One gamers who want to play as Nakamura, Jax or Crews Consumers who can purchase the characters as downloadable content or DLC starting "WWE 2K17" launch day, which is Oct. 11.

"To me, it's about as in-depth to NXT as you can get," NXT head Triple H (real name Paul Levesque) said of the NXT-centric "WWE 2K17" Collector's Edition via GameSpot.

"For our hardcore fan base, our most passionate fans, that's what they want. They want the ability to replicate the superstar's career paths, as themselves or as that character. I think you're going to see NXT become more and more a part of [the WWE 2K series] over the years," he went on to say.
