Publisher 2K recently revealed more "WWE 2K18" details, shedding light on the new MyPlayer system and "Road to Glory" mode ahead of the game's release later this month.

In this year's iteration of the wrestling series, players will be able to highly customize their superstar with the MyPlayer feature. According to GameSpot, they will be able to choose the wrestler's appearance, weight class, height, attire, and a whole slew of other aspects to make sure their characters suit their style.

Not only will it change the character's looks, MyPlayer will also customize how the wrestler fights by giving options on fighting styles, which would determine their strengths when they enter the ring.

They can choose to be a High Flyer for agility and speed, a Showboat for stamina and reversals, a Striker for striking and stamina, or a Technician for technique and grappling. Other choices include Brawler (toughness and athleticism), Strong Style (grappling and reversals), Power House (power and grappling), and Giant (power and toughness).

These styles can be used both in MyCareer modes or the new online multiplayer mode called "Road to Glory."

"Road to Glory" pits players against each other in daily matches to obtain stars in the quest to earn entry into pay-per-view events. The official "WWE 2K" website detailed that players may either earn the required number of stars or simply purchase them to compete in the PPV events. There will be a variety of match styles that gamers can access through matchmaking.

By winning "Road to Glory" matches, players will be able to earn loot crates, which will unlock superstar parts and enhancement. That said, these crates can also be obtained by spending "WWE 2K18" in-game virtual currency (VC). There are bronze, silver, and gold loot crates that cost 2,500, 5,000, and 10,000 VC, respectively.

"WWE 2K18" launches for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on Oct.17. A Nintendo Switch version will also be available sometime this fall.
