WWE Battleground is set to take place in the upcoming weeks but there are already rumors that Dean Ambrose will not be walking out of the event victorious. Instead, a report from Inquisitr indicates he may be losing the belt to Seth Rollins.

Ambrose will be competing against Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns as part of a Triple Threat match during WWE Battleground and there are speculations that the former allies, all former members of the Shield group, will be competing against each other will nothing held back until Rollins emerges as the winner and the new Champion.

However, this may not be an attempt to simply switch the belt from one superstar to the next or to further spite Roman Reigns for his recent drug incident. A report from Sports Keeda points out that WWE chairman Vince McMahon is getting sour of Roman Reigns and wants to push for either AJ Styles or Seth Rollins.

By letting Rollins win the Battleground match and claiming the belt, there may be precedence to make Rollins the new face for WWE RAW instead of Roman Reigns. This all comes from the fact that the WWE has been trying to push Reigns for so long but to no avail, particularly due to his performance and legal issues, and now the WWE might be shifting their efforts on Rollins.

Unfortunately, favoring Rollins over Reigns means Ambrose is caught in the middle and he will need to lose and give up the belt in order to raise Rollins as a formidable contender to become the new face of WWE RAW.

WWE Battleground is set to take place this July 24 and the organization has yet to confirm if their plans regarding Styles, Ambrose and Rollins will push forward. Until the match actually happens there is still a chance that Reigns could win and redeem himself or something unexpected such as a sudden accident or injury halts these plans.
