WWE Draft rumors: Raw's next general manager to be Stone Cold Steve Austin?

Is Stone Cold Steve Austin getting a new role in WWE?WWE.com

As the WWE brand split and draft draw closer, various rumors emerge about where the superstars are going or who are returning. The latest rumor is about Stone Cold Steve Austin.

While Shane McMahon, who was appointed the commissioner for SmackDown, seems to have settled on his general manager, Stephanie McMahon has been silent about her choice for the GM role in Raw.

According to Bleacher Report, she has tons to choose from. There are Sting, Kurt Angle, Edge and Mick Foley, among many others, but the name that stands out the most is Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Austin is the first wrestler to make a jump into an administrative role in WWE. His stint as the co-general manager on Raw more than a decade ago following his 2003 retirement was received well albeit short-lived.

However, Austin might very well be slipping into that role again, should the WWE draft rumors about Stephanie choosing him as her general manager be true.

The Inquisitr believes that Austin's speaking talents and his status as one of the most respected and beloved wrestles of all time will serve him well as a general manager on Raw.

Unfortunately, Bleacher Report believes that he might be too busy at the moment to take on that role again, so fans might not want to get their hopes up for this.

Sting might also be a good candidate, as per WWE draft rumors. It is believed that his "general menace" run half a decade ago on TNA and his smooth-talking abilities, will make him a convincing general manager for Raw.

On the other hand, Edge is also being envisioned as a general manager, with his hosting skills expected to get him through.

Meanwhile, for SmackDown, it is heavily rumored that the general manager Shane has chosen Daniel Bryan. This was revealed in a leak from the WWE official app.
