It looks like Roman Reigns rise into the limelight will be shelved…for now.

Originally set for stardom, Reigns' victory at the 2015 Royal Rumble came under scrutiny and drew the negative ire of fans. With the looming possibility that their fans may defect, the WWE has done damage control and that all starts in the upcoming pay-per-view Fast Lane.

With Reigns and fan favorite Daniel Bryan matching up to determine who would really face Brock Lesnar at Wrestlmenia 31, indications point to a possible Bryan victory.

Before the Royal Rumble, Bryan was a heavy favorite until the WWE decided to go with the Reigns angle. To recall, the fans took exception when Reigns came out on top. It even took his cousin, the Rock, to somehow drown out the boos but yet it seems all that was not enough.

Hence, the WWE has somehow maneuvered to insert Daniel Bryan into the fray. Bryan squared off against Seth Rollins to determine who would face Reigns. The former WWE heavyweight champion came out on top with a little help from Reigns, setting the stage for the collision of both superstars.

Seeing the YES man come out on top should not be surprising. In fact it is something that many saw as coming to help appease the WWE fans. And despite Reigns' growing popularity, it seems that it may not yet be the time for Reigns to reign.

But then again, there is another scenario wherein the outcome of WWE Fast Lane may not necessarily be the final word on that angle. Do recall that Reigns has been earlier rumored to turn heel and feuding with Bryan could be just that.

Then there is another possibility of making the main setto a Triple-Threat-Match between Lesnar, Bryan and Reigns. But that is only a possibility to retain Reigns in the picture.

All of that will however hinge at how Reigns is able to win the admiration and following of the WWE fans, something Bryan has undoubtedly achieved already.
