Big name game publisher 2K Sports announced for hardcore fans of the WWE franchise that it is developing a mobile game based on the iconic sport. Aptly titled "WWE 2K," the mobile game is touted as the first simulation-based "WWE" video game for mobile platforms such as smartphones and tablets.

Fans of the "WWE" game series, especially players of the newest console title "WWE 2K15," will be at-home with the gameplay and design of the upcoming mobile game, as several modes from the full range of the "WWE" franchise can be seen. For example, the signature full cinematic ring entrances for the superstars are available.

Much the same as other video games of the franchise, "WWE 2K" will feature players from the roster of WWE Superstars. Additionally, the character roster for the new game will not just be limited to today's generation of wrestlers such as Daniel Bryan, Roman Reigns, and John Cena but would also feature wrestling legends like Hulk Hogan, Sting, and the Undertaker.

Just like other simulation games, the title will also feature a Create-a-Superstar mode. Hardcore fans who dream of being a professional wrestler can level up their characters through three different match types in Career mode or from matches with their friends in Live Multiplayer mode.

"WWE 2K marks a great milestone in 2K's partnership with WWE, as we bring the first authentic WWE simulation experience to market for mobile devices," Greg Thomas, president of game developer Visual Concepts, said. "WWE gaming enthusiasts will soon experience WWE action and several fan-favorite modes inspired by the WWE 2K flagship console series in an engaging new way."

The new "WWE 2K" for mobile platforms is being developed by Visual Concepts and n-Space and will be available this spring. It will be released both for iOS and Android devices for $7.99.
