'WWE Monday Night Raw' results: 'Balór Club' debuts, Strowman lays out Kane and Lesnar

Things are becoming a lot more interesting ahead of this year's "Royal Rumble" pay per view event.

Roman Reigns opened things up by talking about his victory over Samoa Joe, whom he beat in a no disqualifications match for the Intercontinental title. Reigns said that he was the better man in that fight and he would never be beaten because he fights with a purpose.

An over-excited Jason Jordan interrupted Reigns, followed by his co-tag team champion Seth Rollins, who told the rookie to get his timing right, but Jordan was too busy comparing the three of them to when Dean Ambrose was around.

Finn Balór then entered the arena, flanked by fellow Bullet Club founders Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, who confronted the trio. Before they could come to blows, however, Raw General Manager Kurt Angle came to formally schedule a match between the two groups for the night's main event.

Sasha Banks and Bailey defeated Absolution members Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose when "The Boss" locked in her finisher, forcing Rose to tap out.

"Woken" Matt Hardy debuted a new entrance theme that is suited for his current character, then contributed to Curt Hawkins' now legendary losing streak by defeating "The Star Factory." Bray Wyatt appeared after the match and had a staredown with Hardy.

The Miz made his return to Raw after a brief absence. He issued a warning to Roman Reigns, saying that he will get the Intercontinental title back.

Enzo Amore lost to Cedrick Alexander via count out when Alexander launched himself outside the ring and landed hard on Amore. The cruiserweight champion was clutching his left foot in pain and couldn't make it back to the ring before the 10 count.

Cesaro and Sheamus lost to Apollo Crewes and Titus O'Niel in an upset, which hurt the duo's momentum heading into their Tag Team Championship match at the Royal Rumble.

Brock Lesnar came into the ring with Paul Heyman, with Heyman reminding Lesnar's Royal Rumble opponents Kane and Braun Strowman that his advocate is the most dominant Universal Champion in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) history and that there is no one alive that can put him down. Kane suddenly assaulted Lesnar on the ramp which ignited a brawl between the two that went all the way backstage.

Braun Strowman then appeared and brutalized both superstars and, in a shocking display of brute strength, dropped the entire Raw set on both Kane and Lesnar using a grappling hook. Lesnar couldn't get up and had to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

The main event was an exciting back and forth match between Raw's top team and New Japan's former top team. The match looked like it could go either way but Jason Jordan's overzealousness cost his team a potential hot tag. Finn Balor sealed the victory for his team by hitting the Coup De Grace on Rollins. Roman Reigns got ambushed by the Miz after the match.

There are still two weeks left before the Royal Rumble and things are showing no signs of slowing down before the event. How will Reigns respond to the attack? Will Lesnar be a hundred percent by the time he defends his title? Next week's show will hopefully provide some answers.
