WWE Money in the Bank 2016 predictions: Will we see John Cena in the ladder match?

WWE Network

Predictions have begun to pour in as the wait for WWE Money in the Bank 2016 is about to end.

During the past seven years, WWE Money in the Bank featured the highly anticipated ladder match, where the winner will have the chance to compete for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

This year's ladder match can be considered one of the most anticipated WWE events because prominent wrestlers are rumored to be included in the match. One of them is Sami Zayn, who earlier defeated the reigning Money in the Bank champ, Sheamus. He is also considered as one of the most popular WWE rookies after winning a number of regular matches.

Kevin Owens is also expected to emerge on top of the ladder match in the upcoming WWE Money in the Bank 2016. Zayn's biggest rival earned his spot in the ladder match after his phenomenal win over AJ Styles during their Raw battle. Joining the Money in the Bank event could be Owens' chance to get a world title.

Other names who managed to enter the coveted match include Cesaro, Dean Ambrose, Chris Jericho, and Alberto Del Rio. The seventh competitor has yet to be revealed in the coming days.

Meanwhile, John Cena's return on top of the ring during the Memorial Day WWE Monday Night Raw could also pave the way for his possible reappearance in the upcoming Money in the Bank 2016. The WWE Superstar managed to win the ladder match and bring home the briefcase in 2012.

According to Blasting News, Cena could possibly win this year's Money in the Bank event since he just got back from a long break after going through a shoulder surgery.

WWE Money in the Bank 2016 is scheduled to air on the WWE Network on Sunday, June 19.
