As the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut of former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstar CM Punk nears, discussions continue about his possible return.

Speaking about the possible return of former World Heavyweight Champion Goldberg, WWE star X-Pac, whose real name is Sean Waltman, said that although CM Punk is adamant on not returning, this will change in time.

"Who cares about the past, you know? Nobody in wrestling should ever say the word never because everybody ends up eating that particular word," the pro wrestler said.

"And Goldberg's not going to be any different. Neither is CM Punk eventually," Waltman went on to say, suggesting the possibility of a WWE return for the once-WWE top guy.

Punk is set to begin a career in UFC later this month at UFC 203, where he will go at it against Mickey Gall. His UFC debut was postponed twice after sustaining injuries in two separate occasions prior to his scheduled fights.

Punk has always expressed disdain towards the idea of him returning to WWE seeing that he parted ways with the company in extremely bad terms.

Although he has served his ties from WWE, he is still being asked about it and still talks about his time there as well. He is currently being sued in a $1 million lawsuit by WWE doctor Chris Amann for the comments he made on a recent podcast.

During one of his promotions for UFC 203, he referenced this issue when asked if WWE CEO Vince McMahon sent him regards for his upcoming fight.

"Do me and Vince text? No, he's currently bankrolling a lawsuit against me, so I don't think he's going to be reaching out," Punk said. He then joked about what a text from McMahon will contain, saying "Hey pal, how ya doing? I'm suing you, LOL!"

Punk has already said that he will "never ever, ever" step back into the WWE ring. For now, it looks like he will focus on his UFC career first. However, media outlets say that he is being counted on y majority of fans to lose.
