Sting has long been out of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) scene, apparently, due to the injuries he sustained at WWE Night of Champions against Seth Rollins.

It was obvious through that match that Sting was hurt somewhere along the way and he finally spoke in detail about what really happened that night.

Sting, also known as Steve Borden, was the guest of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair via his "WOOOOO Nation!" podcast recently and he gave a detailed account on what went on with him at the time.

As suspected by many, Sting got injured when he was power bombed by Rollins at the ring buckles. The impact was so bad that it came to a point that he felt numbness and a short spell of paralysis in the process.

The power in his legs abandoned him at one point and such can be seen when he had a hard time standing up and trying to counter the attacks of the Architect.

He added that at one point, point, he had to choose whether to continue or fail to end the match. But drawing enough strength to finish it, Sting was able to finish the match but with obvious dire consequences.

In the interview, he did bare that he could be required to undergo neck surgery. Dr. Joseph Maroon informed him that he had two spots on his neck that need to be attended to and that he had cervical spinal stenosis as well.

With that said, seeing Sting in future WWE matches may have just been doused. Although he remains positive despite the looming possibility of neck surgery, the fact remains that his age (56) will play a role in his recovery from it.

Although John Cena and Daniel Bryan went through a similar ordeal, both were still in their prime and thus made successful comebacks after undergoing neck procedures.

And even if Sting does rise from successful neck surgery, the WWE will likely make it hard for him to return, in the same way that Bryan has been held back due to his bouts of injuries lately.
