WWE rumors 2015: Will John Cena be heavyweight champ once more?

John Cena has so far satisfied himself being in the middle cards, settling for a U.S. title reign which was cut short when he lost to Word Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) heayweight champion Seth Rollins at WWE SummerSlam.

Of course, losing the title happened no thanks to interference from TV host Jon Stewart which cost Cena the chance to become sixteen-time WWE heavyweight champion and his U.S. title.

Cena and Rollins are set to collide at WWE Night of Champions for the U.S. title and many believe that Cena will successfully reclaim the title. That is unless the WWE has other plans like maybe seeing Rollins hand over the WWE heavyweight title not to Sting but to Sheamus via a cash-in.

Speaking of which, is Cena primed for another WWE title run? The belief is that at some point in the future, Cena will reign once more as WWE champ. The question is when.

With Rollins seemingly the WWE favorite at the helm, there will be a lot of instances to watch out for moving forward before Cena could get a chance to hold the WWE heavyweight title once more.

Sheamus has been mentioned as the possible next WWE champion and so is Roman Reigns who is currently busy doing his fair share of honing up his skills in a storyline feud with the Wyatts.

Depending on how WWE Night of Champions as well as the upcoming pay-per-views (PPVs) and storylines turn out, the earliest time to possibly see Cena reign once more could be in late 2016.

At some point, Cena will likely equalize (if not break) Ric Flair's record. But that could take some time unless the WWE feels that it is time for the company's face star wrestler to take the limelight once more.
