WWE rumors 2016: Daniel Bryan could be at the Royal Rumble this weekend

A couple of days ago, word came out that Daniel Bryan could be making a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) return soon if doctors will give him the green light to return to action.

But the report, which comes from PW Insider, seems a bit broad. Apparently, the term "doctors" needs to be whittled out since they are classified into two — outside doctors and official WWE doctors.

Of the two, the WWE doctors are in a better position to allow Bryan to return, although a third opinion was something WWE chairman Vince McMahon wanted to see first.

A recent report bares that Bryan was given clearance, meaning the next move may be up to the WWE. The former WWE champion underwent a series of test given by a UCLA doctor and eventually passed them, according to a report from Wrestle Zone.

So with that said, the fate of Bryan's return now solely rests on the WWE. The company has been hesitant to give Bryan clearance with the concussion lawsuits and potential liabilities in mind.

Despite that, Bryan has been persistent, claiming that he is raring and ready to wrestle. His history of concussions was a concern but with the latest clearance, what could the WWE reason out next (if they are planning to hold back Bryan from competing in the ring)?

If cleared, Bryan could be among the stars at the WWE Royal Rumble this weekend. Aside from that, the company will get a big boost as well with most of its top stars out of commission.

For now, however, it is touch and go for the WWE and Bryan. If the WWE continues to hold him back, there is a chance that Bryan could walk away.

Bryan hinted last year that if he gets cleared by a third doctor and the WWE still disallows him, he may consider other options such as a return to the Ring of Honor or even Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling.

Will the WWE deal or fold?
