WWE SummerSlam rumors: Cody Rhodes vs Stephen Amell happening?

Cody Rhodes did make a surprise return on World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) RAW against Neville but it seems that some people were more concerned about the persona he would be carrying.

After the recent passing of his father, the great Dusty Rhodes, many felt that it would be fitting to see Cody continue his WWE career as a Rhodes. But for some reason, the younger Rhodes opted to continue with his Stardust character, something that didn't matter to some but questionable for the people who were pretty much following Dusty Rhodes and his family.

And while some haven't given it much attention, the decision of Cody to continue the Stardust character was something to appease his father from above.

When his father died, Cody was given the inevitable task to invite Dusty's friends. And the best way to do that was to go through the elder Rhodes cellphone. And once he did go over it, he came across an image, a picture of him in a heated stare down with Stephen Amell, best known as the star of "The Arrow" of CW Television Network.

A message practically guided him on what to do next in the WWE: ""…finish what you start Kid…"

And so there you go, the reason why Cody decided to keep the Stardust persona, a tribute to his father and something that Dusty would have wanted to see if he were still around.

Rumors about a possible face-off between Stardust and the Arrow has been around and from the looks of it, such may be taking place perhaps at WWE SummerSlam.

The signs of an impending showdown is apparent. The WWE has started to talk about comic book superheroes and if you saw the graphics before Stardust faced off Neville, it seems pretty clear that Stardust will be in a comic book angle of sorts.

Additionally, Cody did mention something about being influenced by comic books, something he considers as his education. And capping it off, he had this touching line posted in his wife and WWE host Brandi Runnel's blog: "I am deeply influenced by comic books. I genuinely consider them my education since I forwent that whole wrestling-scholarship thing. I told the very talented current writer of DC Comics' Batman, Scott Snyder, that to our family…you were Batman. Damn that sounds silly. Its true though…with all our extended mess(Godfathers, uncles, a cousin timekeeper, a gorgeous host/wife, two sons, several proteges, etc. all in the same business) we are the Batman family. And you let me be your Robin."
