WWE 'WrestleMania 34' match rumors: John Cena vs. The Undertaker a real possibility?

The highly-anticipated event for the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) titled "WrestleMania 34" is still a long way to go. It is scheduled for pay-per-view in April next year. However, this has not stopped fans and sports critics from speculating which opponent will be faced against arguably the most popular professional wrestler right now, John Cena. So far, there have been signs showing the possibility of Cena going up against The Undertaker.

In a report by the Inquisitr, it is still very possible for Cena and The Undertaker to go on a one-on-one match for "WrestleMania 34." This was derived from a list of odds, which shed some light on the likelihood of matches cross-referenced with each wrestler that could participate in the event. For Cena, the wrestlers with the highest chances of facing him are current champion, AJ Styles, Jinder Mahal, as well as The Undertaker.

It can be argued that Styles and Mahal will be interesting match-ups for Cena, however, The Undertaker is already considered to be a legendary wrestler in his own right. Perhaps, a match against Cena would rouse The Undertaker out of retirement, which would be a very fitting one since it will take place in "the grandest stage of them all." On top of that, Cena versus The Undertaker would certainly be a big draw, and will please wrestling fans immensely.

According to Forbes, it is still unclear at this point how Cena will fit into the lineup for "WrestleMania 34." It was first thought that Mahal would be Cena's opponent come April, but those rumors have since been debunked since Mahal relinquished his WWE title. It is definitely possible that Cena could just be scheduled for the Royal Rumble, but there is doubt circulating since there will be no logical reason for him to be part of it at all.

This puts Cena's position in a very awkward position, since at this point, no current unretired opponent makes sense to pair with him. However, if The Undertaker does get out of retirement just to go head-to-head with Cena, it will be a story that will be talked about for months.

"WrestleMania 34" is scheduled to take place on April 8, 2018.
