It's been a while since there was a solid update for "X-Men: Apocalypse." Thankfully, director Bryan Singer treated all "X-Men" fans to some very interesting casting update this week.

There has been talk about a casting call for the young versions of Cyclops, Jean Grey and Storm for the next "X-Men" movie. This is because the plot of the film goes back to the 1980s wherein these three mutants were reintroduced to Professor X.

There were big names that tried to land the role, but only three of them were lucky enough to get picked. Over at Twitter, Singer revealed who the new cast members are.

"Meet our new and brilliant young mutants: @Alexshipppp as #Storm @SophieT as #JeanGrey and @TyeSheridan as #Cyclops. #XmenApocalypse" Singer tweeted

While Shipp, Turner and Sheridan have been doing TV for a while now, this is their first major blockbuster movie role. Well, if Singer believes they are the perfect fit for the roles, trust that they are.

Elsewhere, Oscar Issac shares his thoughts about being the cyborg mutant overlord Apocalypse, the main villain of the movie. He is aware that this is a role that will require for him to look very different. Those who've seen Apocalypse in the comics would know what a feat it would be for the team behind the film.

"[I] had a chance to look through the script and see what the exact requirements are, but I think it'll be a mixture of physical [effects], aided with some robotic technology," he told Yahoo! Movies

Later, Yahoo! revealed that Isaac was headed to a head cast after the interview. Isaac's head was actually being plastered just so the team would know how to go about his costume and makeup. Isaac said that the process was going to take three to four hours.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" will hit theaters on May 27, 2016.
