20th Century Fox has enlightened "X-Files" fans by releasing the opening minute of the first episode of the upcoming reboot of the sci-fi thriller series.

In the shows official relaunch website, DoYouStillBelieve.Com, the first minute of the reboot was released for viewing to the general audience. The clip summarizes the past nine seasons, and expressed Fox Mulder's undying obsession over alien conspiracies.

"My name is Fox Mulder. Since my childhood I've been obsessed by a controversial global phenomenon," Mulder says in the video. "In 1993, the FBI sought to impugn my work, bringing in a scientist and medical doctor to debunk it, which only deepened my obsession for the better part of a decade, during which time that agent, Dana Scully, had her own faith tested."

The return of the "X-Files" will welcome in a new character named Tad O'Malley (played by Joel McHale) who is a popular conspiracy theorist TV show host who contacts Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dr. Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) after unveiling a significant conspiracy that not only involves the extra-terrestrial, but also the local government.

"[O'Malley] is really an amalgamation of so many characters on the internet who believe that there is just not an alien conspiracy but also a possible conspiracy of men," said show creator and writer Chris Carter in a preview interview.

"The X-Files" follows Mulder in his attempts to prove that aliens exist and to locate his missing sister whom he believes was abducted by aliens. He is joined by Dr. Scully, who at first is tasked to debunk Mulder's theories, but is later on convinced of the existence of the paranormal.

The mini-series reboot of "The X-Files" is set to air six episodes starting on Jan. 24, 2016 after the end of the NFC Championship football game. The second episode will come out the following night.
