With rumors about "X-Men: Apocalypse" making the headlines these past months, reports on having the wrong title along with new cast members being signed on have surfaced.

A recent report has claimed that the upcoming film will not be titled "X-Men: Apocalypse" but will be called by a different name, although it would still be connected to the antagonist.

After director Bryan Singer posted a message on Twitter about the film last December 2014, it was quickly assumed by fans that the sequel will be titled based on his post with the following hashtags: "#Xmen #Apocalypse 2016."

As such, "X-Men: Apocalypse" has become the widely known title.

It has then been reported by Showbiz411 that the upcoming movie will be titled "X-Men: Akkaba," a title for the said movie that was announced in a casting call. The site has also claimed that the 2016 film is looking for 18-year old teenagers who will play the roles of Ava, Dylan and Sabrina. Such characters were speculated by Moviepilot to be the younger versions of Jean Gray, Cyclops and Storm.

Despite two different titles, both of these will still be related to each other as the term "Akkaba" is said to be associated with the supporters of Apocalypse, such as Death and the Four Horsemen.

The latest news on casting has now highlighted the possibility of Tom Hardy joining the cast to portray such villain. Similar to his role as Bane in "The Dark Knight Rises," Apocalypse will be brawny and powerfully built, as shown in the comic books.

In addition, Hardy has also been reportedly signed on for DC Comics' "Suicide Squad" along with Will Smith and Ryan Gosling.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" has been set to premiere on May 27, 2016 while "Suicide Squad" will hit the big screen in 2016 as well, although there has been no official date yet.
