After "X-Men: Days of Future Past," fans have been excited for the next movie, which is known to be "X-Men: Apocalypse." There's been a constant stream of rumors, news and updates for the movie. One of those is Mystique and Beast's love story.

Back in "X-Men: First Class," there was a budding romance between the two characters. They had a unique connection because they could relate to one another. Both of them have blue skin, which make them feel like they have to hide from the public. This connection led to a romantic relationship, but it didn't push through.

In "First Class," the X-Men were busy with the Cuban Missile Crisis. And after that, Mystique left X-Men to join forces with Magneto. Then, that was pretty much it. Fans of Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult waited for the continuation of their love story in "Days of Future Past," but it really didn't happen either, or did it? Apparently, the scenes between the two were cut out.

Hoult had a chat with MTV and talked about the scenes between Mystique and the Beast in "Days of Future Past. He had this to say:

There were another couple of scenes which got cut, because they didn't work technically in terms of the geography of how the movie played out in the end. Why [Mystique and Beast] would be here — when the world is about to end — and then we've nipped home quickly to have a good night's sleep. Everyone was like, 'well, we can't really do that.' So there were a couple of extra scenes which got cut, unfortunately."

If that is the case, Mystique and Beast fans shouldn't lose hope in seeing their love story unfold in "X-Men: Apocalypse." The fact that there were scenes shot means that the filmmakers are actually looking into dwelling into the story.

Hoult remains hopeful with the Beastique relationship, too.

"I think they'll try and figure out a way to develop it more in the next one," he said.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" is slated for release on May 27, 2016.
