For those who have long followed "X-Men" on the animated series or the comics, most are probably aware that Professor Charles Xavier had always been bald.

If one looks at the history of how such came into being, Professor X lost his hair as a side effect of his mutant powers (telepathy).

At present and for the ones who have been following the "X-Men" movie franchise, the whole setting is pretty much different. We saw how he ended up tied to a wheelchair in "X-Men: First Class" and now, it looks like fans will be treated to the story on how the good professor will end up being bald.

James McAvoy, who plays Professor X, bared how the character will eventually go bald. He shared the whole scenario when he starred at "The Graham Norton Show" alongside "Victor Frankenstein" co-star Daniel Radcliffe via Bleedingcool.com.

Apparently, the show touched on the issue of playing bald and it was here where McAvoy said that Professor X's baldness will be a result of something horrible and painful that he ends up pulling half of his hair out while the other half falls out.

But he did backtrack a bit, probably knowing that the revelation could get him into trouble.

Assuming, however, that this would be the case, it could happen as a result of fighting the team's next nemesis — Apocalypse. He is considered the first and most powerful mutant, so it will be interesting how he will render the pain, although it will likely be through telepathic means.

The professor could likely try to get into the mind of Apocalypse or maybe even engage in a mental warfare of sorts which could be too much for Xavier to handle. Of course, there are other possibilities, but it will most likely be tied up with his uncanny mutant powers.
