Xbox Games with Gold February 2015: free #IDARB game

Microsoft has spilled the beans about one of its future surprises. Xbox Games with Gold members would be glad to know that come February, a new game called "#IDARB" can be downloaded for free.

The rather humorous announcement by Xbox's very own Major Nelson came earlier than usual. Along with it was a trailer that spoofs the upcoming movie "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." The eight-player 2D platform game en route the Xbox One was developed by Other Ocean Interactive.

"It might sound kind of strange to give the game away for free two months before it officially comes out, but that's in line with how "#IDARB" was built from day one," Head of Development of Other Ocean Interactive Mike Mika said via IGN.

The eSport title, as IGN describes it, is a fusion of basketball and hockey. As per Here Is The City, players have to fire up a ball to their target to get points. Gamers can battle, form teams, and make and design their own pixel sprite. A great part in playing "#IDARB," also known as "It Draws A Red Box," is the power viewers and spectators of the game have. During ongoing matchups, viewers can easily generate items, muddle up the arena even more by throwing in more obstacles and hurdles, and even call upon Rick Astley right on their screens. All that can be done through Twitter and Twitch.

As an early treat, select fans will also get the chance to get "#IDARB" earlier than others by making use of codes, which can be scavenged on the official website and Twitter account of "#IDARB" as well as from the Twitch channel.

For those who are wondering about the game's title, Mika revealed that it came from suggestions of big fans of the game developer. After Mika hinted followers through this tweet, "I've started a new project, it draws a red box," fans helped him out along the way.
