Xbox Live Games with Gold free game list for March 2016 released

Four new games are coming in March to all Xbox Live members for free under the Games with Gold program.

Microsoft dropped the official list of free games for March 2016 through Major Nelson, confirming the rumors that "Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishment" and "Lords of the Fallen" are coming to Xbox One players.

Frogwares' "Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishment" was first released by Focus Home Interactive in 2014. The adventure video game inspired by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's best-selling novels features six different cases involving various crimes like murder, thefts, and disappearances. It normally sells for $29.99.

"Lords of the Fallen," on the other hand, was developed by Deck13 Interactive and CI Games in 2014. The critically acclaimed action role-playing video game centers on the adventures of the convicted criminal named Harkyn. The game's original price is $39.99.

Both "Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishment" and "Lords of the Fallen" will be available for download on Xbox One starting March 16 until April 15.

Meanwhile, Xbox Live members using the Xbox 360 can enjoy "Supreme Commander 2" from March 1 until March 15. The real-time strategy video game developed by Gas Powered Games centers on the adventures of UEF officer Dominic Maddox. Its original market price is $29.99.

Then on March 16 up to March 31, Xbox 360 players can begin downloading the 2009-released action role-playing first-person shooter game "Borderlands" from Gearbox Software. The original retail price of the game is $19.99.

Xbox One players can also enjoy playing the free games for Xbox 360 under the backwards compatibility program.

The free games for March 2016 will replace the February offerings, namely "Zheroes," "Hand of Fate," "Styx: Master of Shadows," "Sacred Citadel," as well as "Gears of War 2."
