Xbox Live Games with Gold March 2016 free games: Xbox 360 games the same titles in backwards compatibility program?

There has been a switch in the February lineup of the Xbox Games with Gold as two titles will go live as free downloads. Since the Xbox 360 titles under the program will be playable as Xbox One-compatible games, will Microsoft build the March lineup with this in mind?

Microsoft recently changed its schedule for its backwards compatibility program for the Xbox One. Previously, classic Xbox 360 titles are released as playable versions for the current-gen console on a monthly basis. However, parent company Microsoft decided to update this schedule as starting this month, Xbox 360 titles bound for the backwards compatibility program will be added to the game list as soon as they become available.

With speculations about the March lineup for the Xbox Games with Gold already floating online, Microsoft may decide to somewhat combine its two Xbox programs. The March announcement will most likely be made with a simultaneous launch, with the two Xbox 360 titles in the Games with Gold program to be listed as the same games under the backwards compatibility feature, since they will also be playable on the Xbox One.

If this will not be the case, Xbox One players will likely end up with five or six playable titles on their consoles, while the Xbox 360 owners will end up with only two games.

As for which titles will make it to the March lineup, rumors have mentioned triple-A titles to be making the cut for both Games with Gold and backwards compatibility programs. For the Games with Gold free downloads list next month, observers such as Finder have their own favorites in mixed genres, ranging from "Dark Souls II" to complete the trilogy (the original "Dark Souls" will come as Xbox One-playable in April), action-RPG like "Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2," and a straight-forward first-person shooter like "Doom 3."
