Xbox Live with Gold: Games discounted, 'The Witcher 2' for free to Xbox 360, subscription for 'Halo: The Master Chief Collection' extended

Xbox Live Games with Gold members are currently waiting for Microsoft to unveil its set of free games for the month of February. However, the tech company is still mum about the upcoming offerings. Members are now left with a handful of games to download and play without charge this month, and one of them is CD Projekt RED's action role-playing hack and slash video game "The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings" and this killer title is up for Xbox 360 players. 

On Jan. 15 (that's a day early), Xbox 360 gamers moved on from downloading "MX vs. ATV Alive" for free and into Geralt's adventures. Xbox Live with Gold subscribers will save $30 with the promotion, which will be live until Jan. 31. Xbox One owners with Games with Gold subscription can snag "D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die" for the whole month of January. 

Microsoft has also put up discounts for select titles in addition to the Games with Gold free titles, Gospel Herald reported. Xbox One players can get the side-scrolling indie sandbox game called "Terraria" for $10 after the 50 percent discount is applied. "Jackbox Party Pack," which consists of "You Don't Know Jack," "Drawful," "Word Spud," "Fibbage XL" and "Lie Swatter," comes with a 33 percent price markdown. 

Microsoft has also slashed 33 percent off the regular price for "Never Alone," an Alaskan Native adventure game. "WWE 2K15" is on sale with a 25 percent price cut. A Digital Deluxe Edition bundle of the game is at 30 percent of while the "WWE 2K15 WCW Pack" add-on can be purchased 25 percent less the standard value. Lastly, a "WWE 2K15" and "NBA 2K15" bundle is also up for grabs, with 40 percent discount. A selection of "NBA 2K15" VC consumable points are also on 25 percent discount. 

Xbox 360 faithfuls also have tons of games selling at knockdown prices to choose from. There is a whopping 75 percent discount on "Dead Rising," "Remember Me," "XCOM: Enemy Unknown," "XCOM: Enemy Within," "Mafia II," "The Darkness," "Spec Ops: The Line," "BioShock," "BioShock 2," and "Duke Nukem Forever." "Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix" and "Borderlands 2" get 67 percent money off. There is a 60 percent discount for "Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix" and 50 percent on "Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel." "WWE 2K15" is for the taking with 33 percent of the price tag removed. Finally, Microsoft is also rolling out extensions on Xbox Live subscriptions for "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" to fulfill its promise to compensate for the issues that plagued users upon its launch. Subscribers are starting to receive the notification about the promotion, which will be automatically applied to the accounts of those who played the title on or before Dec. 19, 2014. In addition, gamers will also be treated to a "Halo 3: ODST" campaign, the "Halo 2" Anniversary map Relic, and an exclusive nameplate and avatar all for nothing.
