From where we stand currently, there are over 200 games that are Xbox One backwards compatible. The backwards compatibility feature in Microsoft's Xbox One was first made available in November last year. Ever since then, a number of games have slowly been added to the growing list.

GameSpot notes that in spite of already having over 200 backwards compatible games, Microsoft has guaranteed the addition of hundreds more. The write-up also lists the gaming titles that have been made backwards compatible as of July 8th, 2016.

One of the most recent additions includes Red Dead Redemption. This was a huge surprise for fans, and a welcome one at that. The hype that the announcement of this inclusion created is yet to die down in some places, as Game & Guide points out. This means that Red Dead Redemption will now be available to all its fans, irrespective of the edition or version of the game they possess.

Following close on the heels of this big release is another massive title that made it over to the compatible side. Major Nelson announced it on his Twitter account, just like every other news regarding the addition of a new game to the list has been made.

Interpol was originally released back in 2009. The goal of the game is to chase after and find the elusive Dr. Chaos. The game can be purchased on the Xbox store for $5, as Windows Central confirms.

Behind the scenes, although Microsoft does discuss the possibility of adding more gaming titles to their project with the developers and publishers of the games, the ultimate decision and choice lies with the individual publishers. And as more games keep being added to the lineup every week, it might just come to pass that your favorite game might make it in as well, if it hasn't already.
