Microsoft and Xbox have added eight new games for the backwards compatibility program for the Xbox One, expanding the games library to more than 200 titles to date.

On the list posted by Major Nelson, the new games are already included. Aside from "Fallout: New Vegas," classic titles now playable for the Xbox One include "Comic Jumper," "Crystal Quest," and "Joe Danger Special Edition" from Microsoft Studios. There are also new games added from third-party publishers like "Blood Knights" from Kalypso Media, "Dungeons and Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara" from Capcom, "I Am Alive" from Ubisoft, and "Red Faction: Battlegrounds" from THQ.

For players who already own the games on their libraries, the titles will already be included in the Ready to Download tab on the My Games and Apps option on the Xbox One. Meanwhile, physical copies for the games will also be playable on the current-gen console.

"Fallout: New Vegas" is the recent one in the number of triple-A classics that made it to the backwards compatible list program for the Xbox One. Previously, Microsoft has already added other noted major franchise titles like the original "Left 4 Dead," as well as "Portal 2." Major installments from other genres like the first-person shooter "Call of Duty: Black Ops" is also available on the games list.

The eight new games joins other title on the growing list of the Xbox One backwards compatible games list. Meanwhile, although Microsoft and Xbox continue to mix classics and major franchise titles, fans of the program are still waiting for other triple-A games to make the cut. In previous polls, fan favorites for backwards compatible games on the Xbox One include "Red Dead Redemption," "Call of Duty: Black Ops II," and "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim." For the three top choices, though, "Skyrim" seems highly unlikely to be added to the list, as Bethesda recently announced that a remastered version for current-gen systems is already on the way.
