When Microsoft announced its backwards compatibility feature for the Xbox One in November, a number of classic titles were added immediately the following month. However, the console's parent company has yet to come out with a list of titles that will be joining the program this month.

According to Microsoft, the list for January is scheduled to come out some time soon.

Microsoft's Xbox head Phil Spencer himself confirmed the news. Answering a gamer's question, Spencer tweeted, "Have a couple more games doing the final run through on, wanted to wait until we had the full list, not too much longer."

The new backwards compatibility program for the Xbox One allows players to select and play classic Xbox 360 games on the current-gen console, removing the need for players to wait for a re-release. When the new feature debuted in November last year, Microsoft launched at least 104 classic titles for Xbox One compatibility, and added 16 more to the growing list by December.

However, even if the list is a growing one, some fans are not yet content with the number of games available  the backwards compatibility feature. According to GameSpot, one of the most requested games that fans want to play on the Xbox One is from the "Call of Duty" franchise. The industry follower reported that based on player polls, "Call of Duty: Black Ops II" got the most number of votes (totaling 141,000). Other popular and fan-requested titles include its predecessor "Call of Duty: Black Ops," "Red Dead Redemption," and "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim."

Meanwhile, more and more publishers are also coming out with the intention of making their past titles compatible with the new Xbox One feature. According to Express, Microsoft already confirmed that publishers have agreed on making "Halo Wars," "BioShock," "BioShock Infinite," and "Skate 3" backwards-compatible for the Xbox One.
