Microsoft has added three new titles to its list of backward compatible games on the new Xbox One game console this October.

Microsoft launched the Xbox One backwards compatibility feature last year with their New Xbox One Experience update. Since then, several games from the old Xbox 360 have been redesigned and updated to become compatible with the new Xbox One.

This allowed players who have the newest model of the Xbox One to still enjoy the old games from the Xbox 360.

This October, three more titles were added to the backwards compatible list of Xbox 360 games. In a Twitter post from the director of programming for the Xbox Live, Larry Hyrb, he announced that "Silent Hill: Downpour," "Eat Lead" and "Puzzle Quest" are already backwards compatible.

Prior to these three, "Jurassic Park: The Game," "Battlestations: Midway," "Dragon's Lair," and "Tour de France 2011" have also been updated to become backwards compatible and playable on the Xbox One according to Gamespot.

The players who already have the old Xbox 360 games on their Xbox One only need to wait for the games to become updated with their backwards compatibility feature or refresh their library for the update to start playing them. If not, the players can purchase them from the Xbox market.

It appears that the backwards compatibility feature has become extremely popular among gamers. Aaron Greenberg, GM of Games Marketing at Xbox, said that the "Xbox One Backward Compatibility has seen a huge amount of engagement since it launched last November, with more than 145 million hours played and 230+ titles in the library" in a post on Xbox Wire last August.

As of Oct. 13, there are 250 games available due to the Xbox One backwards compatibility feature. According to Daily Star UK, "Skate 3," "Blue Dragon," and "Call of Duty: Black Ops II" are anticipated to be added to the list as well.
