Xbox One discount: Microsoft drops price to $349

Microsoft offers Xbox One with Assassin's Creed Unity and Black Flag for 9.99.Microsoft

It seems that the holidays are far from over at Microsoft as the company is again offering discounts for the Xbox One. The console is once more priced at $349 and is available at various retailers.

Microsoft offered an Xbox One discount during the holidays as part of its Christmas deals. The company seems to have been inspired by how popular the console has become and launched a new promotion on Jan. 16. It is still unknown as to how long Microsoft's deal will last.

"We are not going into depth on the life of the price promotion at this time, but we will share more details soon," said a Microsoft spokesperson to IGN.

Meanwhile, Microsoft is also offering a trade in promo for the Xbox One console. The Redmond firm is gifting consumers who will trade in their PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles with $100. It is most likely that the company will sell discounted Xbox One consoles until supplies last.

In Amazon, the Xbox One "Assassin's Creed Unity" Bundle is still available for the same price of $349 with free shipping. The console comes with: an "Assassin's Creed: Unity" download token; an "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag" download token; a wireless controller; a chat headset; an HDMI cable; and power supply. This is the most popular Xbox One deal during the recent holiday promotions. Moreover, the "Assassin's Creed: Unity" game normally costs $60, while last year's "Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag" costs $29.99.

Xbox One topped the console sales chart beating its rivals PlayStation 4 and Wii U. The discount was announced in October and since then, Microsoft corporate VP Yusuf Mehdi said that Xbox One sales tripled. Microsoft rolled back the price of the Xbox One to as low as $329. The promotion ended last Jan. 3 and the price went back up to $399. Now, Microsoft renewed the promotions and hopes to kick up sales again.
