The new additional games for Gold members include "Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China," which will be available from Sept. 16 until Oct. 15 for the Xbox One, while 'Mirror's Edge" will be available until the end of September for the Xbox 360. This is in addition to "Earthlock: Festival of Magic," which is also offered until Sept. 30.

"Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China" was released last April 2015 and is a 2.5D side-scrolling platformer, which is a first for the series. The game features a new female hero, Shao Jun, and it takes place during the 16th century in China. Jun is equipped with all the tools she needed to do her job, shoe blade, rope darts, and daggers.

"Mirror's Edge" is an action-adventure game that was made available in 2008. Players will need to traverse walls, run on the rooftops, squeeze in ventilation shafts, and negotiate other urban obstacles in order to complete missions.

Meanwhile "Splosion Man," can be downloaded for free by Xbox Live Gold users, and it is not part of the official release for the month. It just so happens that members can grab the game at no extra cost.

The bonus game was launched back in 2009, and it is another 2.5D side-scrolling game. Players will have to work their way out of different levels of obstacles and traps in order to escape the Big Science laboratory.

"Mirror's Edge" and "Splosion Man" can be downloaded and played on the Xbox One console via Backward Compatibility.

Speaking of Backward Compatibility, three Xbox 360 classics were recently added to the growing list of games that can be played on the Xbox One. The latest games include "Bound by Flame," "The Maw," and "Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown." The list now contains more than 250 games.
